Conservative Leadership Election 2022

The next leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party and the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom will be announced on 5th September, after 12 rounds of hustings around the UK.

On assignment for Helsingin Sanomat we visited the 2nd round of hustings in Exeter, Devon.
The surprise at this hustings was that Liz Truss received a boost in her bid to win the leadership race having received the backing of former rival Penny Mordaunt who greeted her as she entered the scene. Rishi Sunak was greeted by Liam Fox.
